Prices for Ukrainian sunflower oil are growing due to a shortage of raw materials - Refinitiv

Export quotations for Ukrainian sunflower oil increased last week by $ 140-150 per ton FOB.

Refinitiv Agriculture writes about it in Telegram.

According to analysts, the rise in prices occurred against the backdrop of a decline in the sunflower harvest in 2020 and the need to fulfill previously signed contracts.

"The completion of sunflower harvesting in Ukraine in 2020 at around 13 million tons, which is almost 2 million tons less, provoked a shortage of raw materials in the market and, as a result, record high purchase prices and high oil supply prices," analysts said.

To keep abreast of the latest data on the progress of the harvesting campaign in Ukraine, follow the updates of the Harvest Online 2020 project. The project was created by Latifundist.com in partnership with Soufflet Agro Ukraine.

Recall that in Russia, as of November 23, 2020, sunflower was threshed from an area of 8.3 million hectares or 99% of the harvested area, 13.2 million tons were threshed with a yield of 1.59 t / ha.
