70% of the Grain Harvest Was Harvested in the Donetsk Region

Despite the hostilities being waged by the russian federation against Ukraine, agrarians in the Donetsk region are completing the harvest. 70% of the grain has already been harvested in territories that are not under enemy occupation. This was reported by the Donetsk Regional Military Administration.

According to representatives of the Donetsk RMA, a total of 313,000 hectares of areas were sown with grain. 70% of them have already been harvested. The pace of grain harvest is slower than in other territories, as regular shelling hinders normal harvesting. In addition, there are difficulties with the weather, because it rains regularly in the Donetsk region.

Before the start of the war that the russian federation unleashed against Ukraine, it was planned to sow 1.04 million hectares. However, the fighting did not allow this plan to be realized. In total, 313,000 hectares of cereals, 197,000 hectares of sunflower and 54,000 hectares of other crops have been sown in the Donetsk region.
