A New Checkpoint for Trucks Between Ukraine and Romania Has Been Launched

The Ministry of Infrastructure announced the opening of a new border crossing between Ukraine and Romania. The checkpoint is located on the section Krasnoilsk – Vicovu de Sus. With its help, they plan to speed up the movement of trucks with agricultural products to European ports. Workplaces for representatives of all services have been arranged on the territory of the crossing, all the necessary equipment has been installed, and the road has been reconstructed.

The Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov said that at the first stage, cars without cargo will be allowed to pass. However, in the near future, the border crossing will start working for vehicles with agricultural products. The checkpoint will operate at full capacity after the completion of construction work on the Romanian side.

The opening of a new checkpoint will reduce the load on the Porubnoe-Siret border crossing, which is one of the busiest. Due to the blockade of Ukrainian ports by the aggressor country, huge queues form there. Other checkpoints are not intended for trucks. Romania is an important country for the export of Ukrainian agricultural products, and the new border crossing will improve the situation with traffic jams.
