Agricultural production in Ukraine may decrease by 10%

According to the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Vysotsky believes that agricultural production in Ukraine may decrease by 10% this year.

During a discussion with representatives of French business on the topic "Sustainability of the Ukrainian economy: focus on the agricultural sector and logistics", he noted that the domestic agricultural sector showed that it could quickly adapt to work in war conditions, even despite the loss of production. In his opinion, in 2023, agricultural production will decrease by 10% compared to 2022, but its productivity, export of products and operation of the domestic market will be preserved.

The government official also emphasized that in recent weeks the issue of preserving the export of Ukrainian products has been important. He explained that due to limitations in the operation of the grain corridor, Ukraine exports more agricultural products to the EU. Therefore, the European Commission's decision to extend the zero customs duty on exports from Ukraine for another year is a very positive signal and support, Taras Vysotskyi believes.
