Belarus offered transit for Ukrainian grain

Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Yury Ambrazevich met with UN Secretary General António Guterres. As part of the negotiations, the Belarusian side informed that it was ready to provide a transit corridor for Ukrainian grain. This information was published by UN speaker Stephane Dujarric.

Belarus is ready to provide its logistics corridors for the transportation of grain to the ports of Lithuania for further export to the countries of Africa and the Middle East. At the same time, Belarus does not put forward any requirements or conditions. The only “government request” that Ambrazevich informed Guterres about was the possibility of opening the export of potash fertilizers to European markets. Earlier, Western countries imposed sanctions on this category of goods.

However, not everyone in Europe supports the idea of the transit of Ukrainian agricultural products through Belarus. In particular, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda called such an initiative a "trap". In his opinion, such a proposal is connected only with the fact that Belarus could bypass the sanctions.
