At the beginning of July, milk prices in Ukraine increased somewhat. This is due to the lack of raw materials in the domestic market and the growth of demand from milk processing enterprises. According to the Association of Milk Producers, the average purchase price of extra grade milk as of July 1 was UAH 13.84/kg, which is UAH 0.15 more than a month ago. The higher grade costs UAH 13.84/kg on average. The average price of first grade milk was UAH 13.04/kg. Accordingly, the weighted average price of the three varieties amounted to UAH 13.57/kg.

In this regard, analyst Heorhiy Kukhaleishvili noted that since the end of June, the demand for raw milk in Ukraine began to exceed the existing supply. Milk processing enterprises faced a certain shortage of raw milk. This led to a point increase in raw milk prices at the beginning of July. In the future, purchase prices may continue to rise if the supply of raw milk on the domestic market is reduced.

According to preliminary estimates of the Association, this year in Ukraine, production of raw milk is expected to decrease by 2%.
