Farmers collected the first 100,000 tons of grain of the new crop

In the new harvest season, Ukrainian farmers collected about 100,000 tons of various agricultural crops. As the Acting Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Taras Vysotskyi emphasized, this year the harvest began with barley, peas and wheat. These are early cereals and pulses, and their production is expected to reach 56 million tons. It is also planned to collect more than 20 million tons of oil crops. This is a preliminary forecast, so the exact figure will be known later.

Currently, farmers harvest from 80% of agricultural land, because about 18-20% of land is temporarily occupied. At the same time, as a result of the change in crop rotation, there is a decrease in the area under grain crops, while the area under oil crops, on the contrary, has expanded.

In total, 56 million tons of new grain harvest is forecast in Ukraine. Harvesting is currently underway in Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Odesa, Mykolaiv and Kherson regions. Vinnytsia region is the leader in terms of yield, where 30.5 quintals per hectare are collected. And in terms of the volume of threshing of crops, the Odesa region holds the first place - 11,800 hectares. The Ministry of Agrarian Policy predicts that a total of 56 million tons of grain crops will be harvested in Ukraine this year. This is slightly less than last year, when the harvest was 57.56 million tons.
