Grain Deal Extended for 120 Days

Grain Deal Extended for 120 Days

On Thursday, November 17, the extension of the grain deal was officially announced. The first to publish this information was the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Oleksandr Kubrakov. He stated that the grain deal was extended for 120 days. Turkey and the UN remain guarantors. Later, President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed the information about the extension of the initiative.

When discussing the new deal, several proposals were made to help solve problems with grain exports. The details of these proposals were not disclosed. It is only known that the ports "Nikolaev" and "Olvia" can be added to the active ports. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky voiced this proposal as part of his speech at the G20 summit.

The need for a grain deal arose because of the large-scale war that the terrorist state of the Russian Federation unleashed against Ukraine. The deal made it possible to unblock the Ukrainian ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk, and Yuzhny. From August 1 to November 17, 2022, more than 11 million tons of grain were sent through these ports.
