Hungary will allocate funding to send Ukrainian grain to Africa

Hungary announced the allocation of a financial assistance package to support the grain initiative and address the global food crisis. The country's government will allocate $3.5 million for the transfer of Ukrainian grain. This was stated by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto.

The Foreign Minister said in a statement that this financial assistance is part of Hungary's global responsibility. The money will be used to export grain to Africa. One of the countries that will receive this assistance is the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Szijjarto also said that Hungary and DR Congo are interested in establishing peace as soon as possible and ending military confrontations that destabilize the situation in the world.

Ukraine is carrying out a large-scale modernization of the logistics infrastructure for grain export. Previously, the reconstruction of the railway junction on the border of Ukraine and Hungary was carried out. As part of these works, a terminal was also built for reloading railway containers and bulk cargo from a wide gauge (Ukrainian standard) to a narrow gauge (European standard). Grain comes in transit through Hungary's territory to the Northern Adriatic ports.
