More than 17 million tons of agricultural products were sent from Ukraine through the «grain corridor»

Since the start of the «grain corridor» (August 1, 2022), as of the first decade of January 2023, 626 ships left the ports of «Great Odesa», on which Ukraine managed to export 17 million tons of agricultural products.

These cargoes, as informed by the Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy, are headed to the countries of Asia (China, Israel and India), Europe (Spain, Italy, Belgium and others) and Africa (Tunisia, Egypt and Morocco).

Only from December 26, 2022 to January 1, 2023, 940,000 tons of agricultural products were exported through the sea ports of the Odesa region. The largest export volumes during the 22nd week of operation of the «grain corridor» were corn (66% of exports during this period), wheat (16%) and sunflower oil (6%). Also, for the period from January 7 to 9, 2023, 5 ships took out 158.5 thousand tons of Ukrainian food from the ports of «Great Odesa».

At the same time, 98 ships are waiting for inspection in the Bosphorus (21 already with food on board, and 77 - those that are about to be loaded). Most of these vessels have been standing in the Bosphorus since last year due to the purposeful inhibition of inspections by the Russian side. This leads to a decrease in the volume of Ukrainian food to countries that need it, as well as to millions of losses for cargo owners.
