Russia blocked the operation of the "grain corridor" regardless of the consequences for the world

Russia blocked the operation of the

The Association "Ukrainian Club of Agrarian Business" reported that the work of the "grain corridor" was completely blocked by the Russian side last week.

"During the 41 weeks of operation of the "grain corridor" (May 8 - 14), not a single vessel passed inspection at the entrance and not a single vessel was registered for inspection at the entrance. In addition, 60 vessels are awaiting inspection. Accordingly, at the moment, only ships that have called earlier are being loaded in the seaports, and in the coming days they will run out. The Russians practically stopped the possibility of further export of Ukrainian agricultural products by sea," the message states.

"The number of ships that were loaded this week was 13 units, which is 2 ships more than the previous week. These vessels are loaded, but they have not yet passed the necessary inspection to continue onward to customers and are awaiting it. Such volumes, unfortunately, remain among the lowest indicators this year," the association added.

In fact, the Russian Federation is blackmailing the world by disrupting the Black Sea grain agreement and pretending to lose from its action, but in fact its grain exports have doubled. This was announced on Monday by the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN, Serhiy Kyslytsia, at a meeting of the UN Security Council, where the humanitarian consequences of the Russian war were considered.

"It's disgusting that Russia is still pretending like it's going to lose in this deal. I will not even remind the Security Council about the immorality of such complaints from the aggressor state, which was and remains the only threat to food supplies on the Black Sea," his statement was quoted by a number of mass media

"We consider these speculations to be an attempt to whitewash Russia's targeted actions aimed at using food supplies as a weapon, and we call on the international community to respond decisively," he added.

It should be noted that on Monday the UN Security Council discussed the humanitarian situation in Ukraine caused by the Russian war. But it is not only the situation in our country that causes concern. After all, if the "grain corridor" is stopped, the flow of refugees from Africa to the EU will increase in a month.

"If the "grain corridor" is stopped now, including supplies under the humanitarian program Grain from Ukraine, because it will simply not be physically possible to export this grain, or it will be difficult to export it, because it will have to be done through the European Union, which will take longer . We understand that there will not be such volumes immediately by road and railway. This will accordingly affect the situation with security and social security on the African continent, especially in those countries that depend on the humanitarian programs of the UN World Food Program", - believes Ambassador of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine on special assignments, coordinator of the Council of Exporters and Investors Olha Trofimtseva.

She emphasized that the negative consequences of stopping the "grain corridor" will be felt almost immediately by those countries to which humanitarian food is supplied from Ukraine, because they are unable to accumulate enough stocks. According to her, if the supply of Ukrainian grain to countries on the verge of starvation is stopped, the citizens of these countries will have a shortage of food within 2-3 weeks. At the same time, the flow of refugees will increase in a maximum of a month.

We will remind that during the 8 months of operation of the "grain corridor" Ukraine exported more than 3 million tons of food to African countries through sea ports, including almost 1 million tons were shipped to the needy countries. Within the UN and Grain from Ukraine humanitarian food programs, 525,800 tons were sent to countries that need Ukrainian agricultural products.
