Support for the Agro-Industrial Complex for 2022 Can Be Increased to 8-9 Billion Hryvnia

State support for companies working in the agro-industrial complex will be increased. This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine Roman Leshchenko. According to him, the Ministry has defended a position of 4.6 billion hryvnia for the agro-industrial sector for 2022, but negotiations are now underway to increase the state support budget to 1% of GDP. If the negotiations are successful, the budget for supporting the agro-industrial complex will increase to UAH 8-9 billion.

Leshchenko said that today, the agro-industrial complex provides a point of growth of about 10% over the previous 9 months. It is in the agro-industrial complex that more than 50% of all foreign exchange earnings are concentrated, and the largest number of jobs has been created. The agricultural sector provides the state with almost 20% of GDP.

Also, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy is developing a gardening support program. It is planned to allocate it as a separate item of expenditure in the state budget, since this industry is considered promising for investing public funds.
