The Agrarian Committee Approved the Project of the Distribution of State Support

On March 3, the Agrarian Committee of the Verkhovna Rada approved the project of state support for agrarians. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.

Minister of Economic Development of Ukraine Ihor Petrashko said that the document retained all the main programs of state support for agrarians. The head of the ministry noted that it is necessary to ensure a stable and predictable system.

According to Petrashko, the new program includes measures to reduce the lending rate, state support for the purchase of equipment for agriculture, and a number of other measures for crop production, animal husbandry, and horticulture. Petrashko believes that the programs included in the project will be in demand among agricultural companies. Some of these, such as support for irrigation, will receive special attention regarding the imminent opening of the land market.

The project includes 5 main areas of support for farmers. In particular, we are talking about partial compensation for the cost of equipment from Ukrainian manufacturers, cheaper loans, financial support for horticulture and viticulture, farming, as well as the development of animal husbandry and reprocessing.

In addition to the programs that previously existed, new measures were added to the project. Petrashko said that a budget of 500 million hryvnias is envisaged for their implementation. The list includes:

  • state support for insurance of farmers;
  • compensation for damage of crop losses for farms from the Odessa region;
  • irrigation programs;
  • development of organic production;
  • support of companies specializing in potato growing;
  • programs for niche crops.

Petrashko also said that if the new programs are of interest to farmers, they will consider the possibility of increasing the budget for them in 2022.
