The Ministry of Agrarian Policy may create its own list of critical infrastructure facilities

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine is authorized to approve the list of objects of the food industry and agro-industrial complex classified as critical infrastructure.

According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, one of the resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine (No. 1384, «On Amendments to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of October 9, 2020 No. 1109 «Some Issues of Critical Infrastructure Objects») is enshrined in this opportunity.

As noted in the Ministry, a working group is now being formed to identify and categorize the relevant objects.

Earlier, Ukrainian agrarians applied to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy with a request to recognize grain elevators as critical infrastructure. Farmers hope that the recognition of grain elevators as a critical infrastructure will ensure a more stable supply of electricity. Grain storage facilities need a constant supply of electricity. Generators or solar power plants cannot be the solution to this problem. If you use them, the cost of storing, drying, weighing grain will be very high. As a result, this will affect the price of finished products.

At the moment, Ukraine has lost about 10 million tons of storage capacity for agricultural products. Therefore, the recognition of elevators as a critical infrastructure will solve these problems through a stable energy supply.
