The Ukrainian economy began to grow

According to the results of the first quarter of the current year, the decrease in GDP amounted to 10.5%, which is much better than the previous estimates of the Ministry of Economy (-14.1%). This was announced by the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyridenko.

"Such data indicate that the economy of Ukraine is adapting and recovering at a faster pace than previously predicted. She continues to work and overcome the challenges of war. And this is confirmed by the growth of seasonally adjusted real GDP in the 1st quarter of 2023 compared to the 4th quarter of 2022 by 2.4%. The government's measures to stabilize the energy situation and solve logistical problems, including access to certain seaports within the grain agreement, remain a support for business and the population," the press service of the Ministry quotes the head of the Ministry as saying.

In addition, the improvement of the situation is facilitated by the implementation of programs for the recovery and support of enterprises, which facilitate access to financial resources, in particular the program "Affordable loans 5-7-9%" and grant programs under the general name "eRobota", financing of significant amounts of capital expenditures for the restoration of destroyed infrastructure, residential and social facilities.

We note that currently, in the second quarter, positive GDP dynamics are also observed.
