The World Bank will allocate financial assistance to Ukrainian farmers for the purchase of fuel

In 2023, Ukraine can receive financing from the World Bank to solve a number of problems. It is expected that an amount of $55-60 billion will be allocated. Funds will be allocated under the macro-financial assistance program, economic recovery, energy structure, support for private business, and humanitarian assistance. This was announced by the representative of Ukraine in the World Bank, Roman Kachur.

In 2022, Ukraine received $31 billion, but this amount was not enough. In 2023, the amount may be two times more. Roman Kachur said that it sounds like fantasy, but such decisions are absolutely real. The World Bank offers three main areas of work with donors:

  • Restoration of Ukrainian infrastructure.

  • Support for private business, in particular, the purchase of fuel and lubricants for the sowing campaign.

  • Humanitarian aid.

At the moment, multipliers are being developed that will make it possible to turn $1 billion into $3-4 billion in aid. Another possible innovation is developing a mechanism for insuring private entrepreneurs and companies against military risks.

The representative of Ukraine in the World Bank said that in the organization's report, the estimate of the restoration cost as of June 1 was $350 billion. A reassessment will be carried out in 2023, and the amounts will be much larger there.
