Another series of negotiations on the continuation of the "grain initiative" reached an impasse after Turkey, Russia, Ukraine and the UN did not reach an agreement on new vessels capable of exporting grain.

The Guardian, citing UN Secretary-General Farhan Haq's deputy spokesman, reported that daily inspections of previously authorized ships would continue, and that Russia had released a list of demands it wanted to meet in order to extend the agreement.

It should be noted that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, accused the Russian Federation of wanting to destroy the grain agreement, which allows the export of grain through the sea ports of Odessa.

"Russia, by its actions, tightened the knot around the Black Sea Grain Initiative, and now it says: ay-yay-yay, what's going on. Russia wants to kill the Black Sea Grain Initiative. Krapka," said Dmytro Kuleba in an interview for the Moldovan TV channel TV8.

In his opinion, food security in the whole world will suffer from such actions of the occupying country. The minister emphasized that Ukraine continues to do everything possible to preserve the grain agreement.

We will remind that the grain agreement was signed in July last year in Istanbul. Its guarantors were Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres. The document was signed by representatives of Ukraine, the Russian Federation, Turkey and the UN. The Russian side concluded its own similar agreement with the UN and Turkey.
On April 26, Russia blocked the Black Sea grain corridor - in the joint coordination center in Istanbul, representatives of the Russian Federation refused to agree on the movement of ships through the humanitarian corridor to and from the seaports of Ukraine.

The next day, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Their conversation was about the war in Ukraine and the continuation of the "grain initiative".
