Ukraine is looking for additional funds to support farmers

Serhii Labaziuk, a member of the agrarian committee of the Verkhovna Rada, reported on the actions of the Government and parliamentarians regarding the search for additional resources to support farmers, based on the results of parliamentary hearings with representatives of the World Bank, the US Department of Agriculture, USDA, FAO, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Economy and leading agricultural associations.

According to his information, as of today, thanks to the involvement of donor funds, UAH 131 billion will be raised for available loans, UAH 360 million for guaranteeing loans, and UAH 1 billion for granting grants to agricultural enterprises.

Currently, the government is additionally working on attracting $80 million in subsidies, $50 million to support gas processing, and $50 million for dryers and generators.

"This is good news for the agricultural sector... But there are buts... The problems of lack of equipment, logistics, export of products at market prices and insurance have not disappeared anywhere. All this needs to be resolved at the legislative level, which is why I once again focused on the draft law on the attraction of donor funds from international partners during the war," said Serhii Labaziuk.

According to him, the draft law proposes to introduce capital investments through loans on the terms of repayment of 90% of the rate and 50% of the annual payment per body, insurance guarantee, compensation of 40-60% of the insurance payment in case of destruction of property as a result of military actions, and financing for purchases from state property equipment and free transfer of use during the war.
