Ukraine Plans to Increase Supplies of Seed to the EU

Ukraine intends to increase the export of seeds to the countries of the European Union. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Economic Development Taras Kachka, his statement was published on the official website of the department.

According to the official, Ukraine is actively breeding and developing new varieties for various climatic conditions. Kachka said that the ministry is now actively working to increase the share of seeds in exports. According to the Deputy Minister, Ukraine is constantly increasing its share in the export of seeds within the OECD.

The official also noted that the most promising market for seed suppliers from Ukraine is the EU countries. According to Kachka, the country has already been integrated into the European seed market network, and also entered the list of non-EU countries that have the right to supply seed for grain crops.

In addition, Kachka noted that within the framework of the Association Agreement with the European Union, the Ministry of Economy is bringing the legislation to European standards in the field of seed production. In particular, Ukraine is increasing the export of seeds of grain, oilseeds, and potatoes.
