As reported by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, 169.1 thousand hectares were planted with spring wheat, 557.4 thousand hectares with barley, 110.2 thousand hectares with peas, 81.7 thousand hectares with oats, 53.4 thousand hectares with . ha - corn, 0.27 thousand ha - buckwheat and 1.7 thousand ha - millet.

In addition, agrarians of ten oblasts began planting sugar beets. These are the territories of Cherkasy region, Khmelnytskyi region, Ternopil region, Rivne region, Poltava region, Lviv region, Kyiv region, Zhytomyr region, Volyn and Vinnytsia region. Sunflower is sown by farmers in Chernihiv Oblast, Bukovyna, Khmelnytskyi, Kherson Oblast, Kharkiv Oblast, Ternopil Oblast, Sumy Oblast, Rivne Oblast, Poltava Oblast, Odesa Oblast, Mykolaiv Oblast, Kyiv Oblast, Ivano-Frankiv Oblast and Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

It should be noted that this year Ukraine can collect at least 45 million tons of grain crops, and under favorable weather conditions this figure can reach 52 million tons. Taras Vysotskyi, the First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, announced such a forecast on the telethon "Yedini Novyny".

"There are no threats to internal food security in Ukraine. 45 million tons is two and a half times more than needed, as Ukrainians consume about 18 million tons of grain annually," the government official emphasized.
