According to operational data of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, as of July 4, grain and leguminous crops were harvested in Ukraine from a total area of ​​967.2 thousand hectares. From this collection, 3.361 million tons of grain were threshed. The average yield was 34.8 quintals per hectare.

The main part of this harvest is wheat, of which 1.629 million tons were collected from 482.2 thousand hectares, and barley - 1.566 million tons, collected from 402.7 thousand hectares. In addition, 166.4 thousand tons of peas were collected from 82 thousand hectares. According to the Ministry, the harvesting campaign of grain crops is currently being conducted in twenty-one oblasts. Mykolayiv Oblast became the leader in the rate of grain harvesting, where 314.2 thousand hectares were threshed. Ivano-Frankivsk region is ahead in terms of average yield with an indicator of 67.5 quintals per hectare. In addition, thirteen oblasts harvest rapeseed, which is threshed on a total of 186.9 thousand hectares. 285.9 thousand tons of crop were harvested from the specified area.

As the Acting Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Taras Vysotskyi reported earlier, this year the harvest began with barley, peas and wheat. These are early cereals and pulses, and their production is expected to reach 56 million tons. It is also planned to collect more than 20 million tons of oil crops. This is a preliminary forecast, so the exact figure will be known later.
