Ukrainian farmers received almost UAH 400 million in compensation for new agricultural machinery

The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine has expanded the list of agricultural machinery and equipment of Ukrainian manufacturers, for the purchase of which farmers can receive compensation of 25% of the cost from the state, and since the beginning of the program, the amount of compensation has amounted to almost UAH 400 million. Currently, the program includes 11,771 thousand units of equipment from 133 Ukrainian enterprises.

It is known that in recent days 7 new enterprises for the production of agricultural machinery and equipment have taken part in the state program, and the list of Ukrainian machinery, the purchase of which the state partially compensates farmers, has increased by 324 items. In order to take advantage of the state support program and receive 25% of the cost compensation for the purchased machinery or equipment, the agricultural producer must choose a supplier from the list on the website of the Ministry of Economy, purchase the necessary machinery and submit an application and supporting documents to the authorized bank.

We will remind that the program started in March of this year. During this time, farmers received almost UAH 400 million in compensation. Almost UAH 150 million will be received by agricultural producers who purchased agricultural machinery and equipment of Ukrainian production only in September of this year. The corresponding order on the allocation of funds for authorized banks was signed on October 24. Funds will be directed to 25 authorized banks based on customer applications received in September. Buyers of equipment through PrivatBank (over UAH 52 million), Oschadbank (UAH 31.8 million) and ProCredit Bank (UAH 15 million) will receive the largest amounts of compensation.

In total, during the existence of the program, over 395 million hryvnias have been awarded to farmers (including the current order). If only UAH 220,000 was paid in April, and UAH 18.6 million in May, then in August the amount of payments reached UAH 98.5 million, and in September, as mentioned earlier, it amounted to UAH 149.98 million. So far, more than 1,700 farmers have taken part in the program and purchased Ukrainian equipment worth almost UAH 1.9 billion. The largest number of applications for compensation for purchased agricultural machinery and equipment were submitted in the following regions: Odesa — 178, Kirovohrad — 170, Poltava — 157, Mykolaiv — 148, Cherkasy — 135, Vinnytsia — 120.

But Ukrainian business is not only interested in compensation. The other day it became known that the oldest Polish tractor manufacturer Ursus was sold to a company related to a Ukrainian entrepreneur. As "Tygodnik Poradnik Rolniczy" writes, the price of the deal was PLN 74 million. MI Crow became the new owner of Ursus. The company was established only on July 1, 2024 with a charter capital of PLN 50,000. The partners are Bozhena Glowatska and Oleg Krot, who is also the company's president. The new owner is currently developing a detailed plan for Ursus' operations after its takeover. By the way, Oleg Krot is a Kyiv entrepreneur, one of the managing partners of the TECHIIA holding. The concern unites 10 technology companies from such industries as unmanned aviation (drones), IT, eSports, construction technologies and SaaS.

Now the new owner of Ursus intends to develop a new development strategy for the tractor manufacturer. The company says it will keep all existing jobs, and also plans to recruit new specialists and increase Ursus' production capacity. The investor assures that the strategy will be based on the principles of sustainable development and corporate responsibility.
