Ukrainian manufacturers will have the right to put the state trident on the packaging of their goods

Ukrainian entrepreneurs will receive the right to use the official name, the international letter code of Ukraine and an imitation of the small State Coat of Arms in their trademarks. The relevant order, which regulates the process of obtaining relevant permits, was adopted by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine. This document creates the legal conditions for the activity of the Commission for granting permission to use the official name and international letter code of our state in a trademark or to include in the image of a trademark an imitation of the small State Coat of Arms of Ukraine.

Thus, the activities of the Commission will contribute to the protection of national symbols and ensuring the compliance of the use of official symbols of the state for commercial purposes. Also, clear requirements for petitions and the order of their submission are established, which simplifies the process to obtain permits for citizens and entrepreneurs.

Currently, the Ministry continues its work on improving the regulatory and legal regulation of the functioning of the state system of legal protection of intellectual property in Ukraine. Thus, for the time being, applicants for the first time have the opportunity to obtain permission to include in the image of a trademark an imitation of the small State Coat of Arms of Ukraine by applying to the aforementioned Commission.

It was previously reported that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a resolution on the promotion of Ukrainian-made goods. Therefore, all domestic enterprises will be able to use the official "Made in Ukraine" mark. In particular, the Government approved the image of the "Made in Ukraine" trademark. Currently, the Ministry of Economy must ensure the submission of an application for state registration of a trademark, as well as develop and approve a technical standard (brand book). Also, the use of the image of the trademark by state bodies, enterprises, institutions, regardless of the form of ownership, is carried out free of charge. The document prescribes a recommendation for all institutions and enterprises to use the trademark in accordance with the technical standard.

It should be noted that the products of Ukrainian brands have already been mentioned by respondents from European countries in several surveys. Thus, 2% of the Dutch and Italians, 3% of the British and Germans, as well as 4% of the Poles consider Ukrainian goods to be of guaranteed quality. It is interesting that, except for Ukrainians and Poles, domestic brands are in the first place in this question among all respondents. Only 37% of Ukrainians consider the products of our brands to be of guaranteed quality. Thanks to the country's legendary brand, no more than 3% of the British, French, Germans and Poles and 5% of Italians buy Ukrainian products.
