30 million tons of cargo from Ukrainian farmers passed through the Ukrainian sea corridor in 3 quarters

Since the beginning of the operation of the Ukrainian sea corridor almost 9 months ago, almost 1,600 ships have exported 45 million tons of cargo from the ports of Great Odesa, including mainly products of Ukrainian farmers for world food markets. More than 30 million tons of products of Ukrainian farmers passed through the corridor for 38 countries of the world.

In fact, the Ukrainian economy is recovering faster than previously predicted. All institutions are now revising their GDP growth estimates upwards. And the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted two draft laws directed against the "black" export of grain. These draft laws propose to introduce mechanisms that minimize opportunities for abuse in the export of agricultural products, which will ensure greater foreign exchange revenues for the state and positively affect the stability of the national currency. Moreover, USDA analysts have already published a forecast of the Ukrainian wheat harvest in the new 2024/25 marketing year. In general, world wheat production in the 2024/25 season is forecast at 798.19 million tons (+10.47 million tons compared to 2023/24). The wheat harvest in Ukraine in 2024/25 is forecast at the level of 21 million tons (-2 million). The export estimate is 14 million tons (-3.5 million), the forecast of final stocks is 1.06 million tons.

It should be noted that as of the beginning of the second decade of May, 4 million 320.2 thousand hectares of grain and leguminous crops were sown in Ukraine. This is 77.1% of the forecast. Over the past week, the growth of grain and leguminous crops amounted to 912.9 thousand hectares. Farmers also sowed 3 million 963.7 thousand hectares with sunflowers, 1 million 201.3 thousand hectares with soybeans, and more than 250 thousand hectares with sugar beets.
