A new grain procurement mechanism may be introduced in Ukraine

The Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Mykola Solskyi, proposed to review the grain procurement mechanism within the framework of Grain from Ukraine. This was reported by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

The Minister has already discussed the relevant proposal with the acting head of the United Nations Department of Logistics and Public Procurement, Ramiro Armando de Oliveira López da Silva.

During the conversation, Mykola Solskyi emphasized that during spring sowing, Ukrainian farmers should know that they will not have to work at a loss. As part of the implementation of the Grain from Ukraine project, the Minister proposed to conduct the purchase of grain according to the following scheme: half of the advance payment for the purchase of grain agrarians will have to make in the spring, and another 50% after harvesting in the fall, according to the market price.

The representative of the UN, in turn, noted that the organization wants to help Ukraine solve logistical problems related to the export of its own agricultural products. He suggested holding talks with major players in the world market to find a solution through joint efforts.
