Cereal crops are one of the main export categories in Ukraine since the beginning of 2021

Cereal crops retain their status as one of the key export products of Ukraine. In particular, these goods were included in the top 3 most exported goods from the country in the first quarter of 2021. This is reported by the State Customs Service.

According to the ministry, the total trade turnover for the first quarter of 2021 amounted to USD 28.8 billion. This is 3.1 billion more than in the first 3 months of 2020 when our country exported goods for 25.7 billion USD. In particular, imports have increased. For the period from January to March, the gross import indicator amounted to 15.1 billion USD, which is 1.6 billion more compared to the same period in 2020.

Export growth was also recorded. The gross export indicator amounted to USD 13.7 billion, which is USD 1.5 billion more compared to the first quarter of 2020. The balance is negative – 1.3 billion.

The first place in export was taken by products from ferrous metals. Ukrainian enterprises sold such goods for the amount of USD 2.7 billion. Cereals are in second place, with gross exports amounting to USD 2.2 billion. Ores, slag, and ash are in third place. They were exported for 1.8 billion USD.

China remains the leader in imports from Ukraine. China imported goods worth USD 1.9 billion. Next came Poland, which imported goods worth 1 billion USD. The third place was taken by Turkey with 881 million USD.
