For the upcoming year, Ukrainian farmers have been promised good weather

In 2025, the weather will be on the side of Ukrainian farmers. This is important because the weather at the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025 will directly affect Ukrainian yields, which can be predicted approximately by the end of spring.

Meanwhile, considering the record crop losses of winter grains in Russia and the climate problems in European Union countries, the issue of Ukrainian winter crops becomes significant. However, experts anticipate good harvests, as both weather and conditions abroad will benefit farmers. Overall, winter crops in Ukraine are in satisfactory condition. Currently, no significant frosts are expected that could threaten the crops, and the forecasted snow cover will reliably protect the winter grains. However, there may be difficulties with fruits and vegetables in Ukraine due to the destruction of warehouses, elevators, and energy facilities by Russian military forces. The main conditions for obtaining fruit and vegetable harvests are ensuring capabilities for long-term storage and the availability of electricity.

Returning to the weather forecast for 2025, it is still very early to promise good weather for the entire year. However, forecasts have already been made for January at the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center. At the beginning of the year, the average monthly air temperature is expected to be around -0 to -3 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, in Transcarpathia, Crimea, Odesa, and Kherson regions, temperatures of 0 to +2 degrees Celsius are expected, which is 1.5 to 2 degrees above normal. The monthly amount of precipitation will also be within the normal range.
