European ministers declared that they are ready to support the continuation of the quota-free and duty-free trade regime. This was discussed during the meeting of the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Mykola Solsky, with European colleagues, at which the autonomous trade regime for Ukraine was discussed. The negotiations took place within the framework of the 16th Global Forum on Food and Agriculture held in Berlin.

At the negotiations, the representative of Ukraine noted that the quota-free and duty-free regime for the export of agricultural products from Ukraine must be extended. The Minister discussed this possibility with the EU Commissioner for Agriculture Janusz Wojciechowski. Mykola Solsky also discussed the relevant topic with the Minister of Food and Agriculture of Germany, Cem Ozdemir, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty of France, Marc Fenault, and the Minister of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality of the Netherlands, Piet Adema. European ministers declared that they are ready to support the continuation of the quota-free and duty-free trade regime between Ukraine and the European Union. Also, the Minister of Agriculture of Ukraine discussed cooperation between the agricultural sectors of the countries with his European colleagues. The representative of Ukraine agreed with the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Poland, Czeslaw Sekierski, to find a solution that would suit both parties.

It should be noted that earlier in Brussels, they agreed to control the flow of Ukrainian agricultural products, if they pose a threat to prices in neighboring countries. According to the Financial Times, Poland obtained the corresponding concessions from the European Union. The European Commission promises to offer specific guarantees within a week. Security guarantees are planned to be used when Ukrainian agricultural products gain access to European markets. Currently, Hungary and Poland have blocked their own markets.

European Commission Trade Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis noted that we are talking about protective measures specific to EU countries. According to him, the regional influence of the export of Ukrainian agricultural products is distributed very unevenly. The European Commissioner added that it is first of all felt by Ukraine's closest neighbors, and exports generally do not create significant obstacles for the EU market. Valdis Dombrovskis said that the embargo on Ukrainian agricultural products introduced by Poland will last until June next year.
