The agricultural sector provides up to 60% of the country's export revenue

Farmers and agricultural product processors account for up to 60% of Ukraine's export revenue. According to Vitaliy Koval, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, the agro-industrial complex currently employs about 5 million Ukrainians.

These specialists ensure the export of agricultural products, and for the 2024/25 marketing year, the export of grains and oilseeds alone is expected to reach almost 47 million tons. As of December, according to forecast balances of supply and demand for grains and oilseeds for the 2024/2025 marketing year, grain exports are forecast at 40.3 million tons, which is 66.7% of total supply, and oilseeds at 6.6 million tons. By the end of the season, it is planned to export 16.2 million tons of wheat, 2.9 million tons of barley, 20.5 million tons of corn, and about 0.7 million tons of other grains and leguminous crops. In addition, soybean exports are expected to reach 3.7 million tons, and rapeseed exports - 2.9 million tons.

In total, this year Ukraine has already exported 72.7 million tons of grains and oilseeds and plans to reach about 77 million tons by the end of the year. Last year, the country exported 67.3 million tons of grains and oilseeds for the calendar year. Currently, Ukraine is approaching the second historical record of agricultural product exports. In particular, in 2023, products worth $22.1 billion were exported, and this year an increase to $24.5 billion is expected. Speaking of December, 2.146 million tons of grains and leguminous crops have already been shipped. In terms of crops, since the beginning of the current season, 9.428 million tons of wheat (434 thousand tons in December), 1.956 million tons of barley (94 thousand tons), and 8.816 million tons of corn (1.607 million tons) have been exported.
