The container terminal of the future "dry port" became operational in Vinnytsia

On the eve of Christmas, the first container shipment of cargo to Odesa from Vinnytsia took place, where the construction of the second stage of the "dry" port was completed. "Container Terminal Vinnytsia" will become a key link in transportation logistics within the central part of Ukraine.

Lemtrans Group invested more than 15 million US dollars in this facility. With these funds, the relevant infrastructure is being built - railway tracks, a container yard and an indoor warehouse. The throughput capacity of the terminal is calculated at 20 thousand. TEU per year. The basis of the cargo flow should be niche grain crops and overflow cargoes such as oil.

We will remind that the construction of the dry port "Container Terminal Vinnytsia" started in the spring of this year. Already in September, the terminal accepted the first cargoes. It should be understood that the restoration of the Eurasian railway corridors opens up new opportunities for the development of the Ukrainian economy. This will help increase the volume of exports of Ukrainian products to world markets, attract new investments and create new jobs.

By the way, recently the Ministry of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure signed a memorandum with the European Railway Agency (ERA), which provides for cooperation in the field of technical harmonization of railway systems of the European Union and Ukraine. The agreements include expert and technical support for the Ukrainian side of joining the single European railway space. Thus, Ukraine is gradually engaged in the modernization of its own transport infrastructure and its adaptation to the standards of the European Union. This year, Ukrzaliznytsia started the construction of the Chop - Uzhhorod European track. This project is included in the list of projects of the strategic program for the development of railway infrastructure for the integration of Ukraine into the European Union. Laying of the first link of the rail sleeper grid of the new Eurotrack took place on April 11. This project will make it possible to increase the comfort of passenger traffic and significantly redistribute cargo flows. The project will be implemented with 50% grant co-financing from the EU fund Connecting Europe Facility (CEF). The total amount of the project is UAH 1.3 billion. The project implementation period is planned as 14 months. During this time, 22 km of railway tracks of the European standard will be built and reconstruction of artificial structures, facilities and networks of engineering support will take place. There are also plans to extend the Eurotrack from Uzhhorod to Lviv.

In addition, at the beginning of the current year, it became known about the readiness of domestic investors to finance the construction of a wide railway track from the border with Ukraine to the ports of Gdansk in Poland and Klaipeda in Lithuania.
