The first payment under the program for compensating the cost of domestic agricultural machinery has been made this year
The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine has made the first payment this year under the program for compensating 25% of the cost of Ukrainian agricultural machinery. UAH 126.6 million was transferred to buyers of domestically produced equipment purchased in December 2024 and January of this year.
The compensation was accrued for the products of about 90 Ukrainian machine-building enterprises, whose products are included in the official list of the Ministry of Economy. These are both large factories and small and medium-sized manufacturers from all over Ukraine — from Poltava to Ivano-Frankivsk. Agricultural producers of Khmelnytskyi (UAH 15.6 million in compensations), Mykolaiv (UAH 13.3 million), Sumy (UAH 12.7 million), Ternopil (UAH 9.7 million) and Odesa (UAH 9 million) regions were the most active in using the program. The largest number of equipment units was purchased in Khmelnytskyi (108), Poltava (90), Odesa (78) and Kirovohrad (75) regions.
By the way, the Government has changed the conditions for participation in the program for compensating 25% of the cost of Ukrainian agricultural machinery, excluding value added tax. From now on, only those farmers who are registered in the State Agrarian Register will be able to use it. The relevant resolution was adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine upon submission by the Ministry of Economy. According to Deputy Minister of Economy Andriy Telyupa, these changes will help Ukraine fulfill its international obligations. In addition, the requirements for agricultural producers themselves have also been clarified. To receive compensation, at least 75% of the sold products over the past year must be agricultural goods or services. For newly established companies, this rule will be calculated separately for each reporting period.
It should be noted that the list of available equipment is constantly updated. Currently, it includes 11,910 units of machinery and equipment from 144 Ukrainian manufacturers. The compensation program is implemented in accordance with the Government's resolution and is part of the "Made in Ukraine" policy to support Ukrainian production. Compensation can only be obtained for equipment with at least 60% of domestically produced components. Separate conditions apply to certain categories, such as combines or tractors.
By the way, regarding agricultural machinery. South Korean company LS Group plans to build a modern tractor plant in Ukraine. According to the Minister of Agrarian Policy Vitaliy Koval, after the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, Ukraine lost more than 8,000 units of machinery and equipment, of which more than 1,000 units were tractors. Therefore, such cooperation with a South Korean enterprise is important for the Ukrainian agricultural sector. Korean investors are looking for potential partners for the implementation of the project, and the Ministry of Agrarian Policy is helping to establish such cooperation in the format of a joint Ukrainian-Korean enterprise.
