The Ministry of Agrarian Policy Changed the Support Mechanism for Agricultural Business

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy has introduced a new support mechanism for agricultural producers. The head of the department, Roman Leshchenko, told about this in a recent interview. The ministry changed the program, focusing not only on agricultural holdings but also on small and medium-sized producers.

Leshchenko said that the Ministry of Agrarian Policy has set a limit for subsidies – 60 million hryvnia. This was necessary to prevent large agricultural holdings from receiving huge amounts of money from the budget. Previously, holdings used the fact that they included dozens of companies, each of which received funds separately. Because of this, the amount of subsidies exceeded billions of hryvnia. There will be no more such a situation.

The head of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy said that the department has introduced new rules, according to which the interaction of companies with officials will be reduced. It will be possible to submit documents through an electronic service called DAR. In addition, the agricultural sector will receive 4.5 billion support for small and medium-sized businesses. Agroholdings have been restricted from purchasing land in large quantities. In addition, Leshchenko said that the country allocates actually 0.5% of GDP to support the agrarians.
