The Ministry of Agrarian Policy Has Determined a List of Measures to Stabilize Exports Through the EU

The Minister of Agriculture of Ukraine Mykola Solsky spoke about the measures that will ensure the stable export of agricultural products through the countries of the European Union. First of all, Ukraine plans to create complexes of terminals. They will include grain conveyors, which will ensure uninterrupted transportation of grain.

The need to build conveyors is caused by the difference between the standards of Ukrainian and European railways. The terminals will ensure the reloading of agricultural products from Ukrainian wagons to European ones. The estimated throughput capacity of each terminal will be 2 million tons of grain per year.

Another problem that needs to be solved jointly with European partners is the lack of railway cars and grain trucks. According to Mykola Solsky, as of 2022, there are over 22,400 railway grain wagons in Ukraine. The number of similar wagons in Europe is slightly more than 12,000. According to the calculations of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, an increase in the number of wagons by 3,640 units and grain trucks by 6,000 units will increase the throughput capacity by 10 million tons of grain per year.
