The Poles are preparing a new blockade of the Ukrainian border

Ukraine's border with Poland may be blocked again as early as November 15. After all, applications for holding mass events have been received by the Polish border bodies of territorial self-government. And the refusals of the border guards are challenged in the courts. The latter allow mass measures, referring to the fact that the negative consequences of the previous blockade, which began in the fall of last year and lasted until the spring of this year, are not proven.

The Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce sent an appeal to Polish entrepreneurs, in which they called on them to provide proof of their losses from the blockade so that they could be used in court to prevent the border from being blocked. But who exactly and for what purpose plans to block the border of Ukraine this time is currently unknown. Based on the experience of the past blockade, it can be assumed that the organizers are the same people.

It should be taken into account that in the event of a new blockade of the border by Polish farmers, appeals to European structures and attempts at backroom agreements will not work. Therefore, Ukraine should act in the official legal field - through the courts of Poland. After all, the court makes a decision on the basis of competition, based on and within the limits of the arguments of the parties. Poland's trade turnover with Ukraine in 2023 amounted to about $17 billion, of which Poland's sales to Ukraine are over $12 billion, and Ukraine's sales are $5 billion. The difference is 2.5 times in favor of Poland.

Therefore, if any group of people blocks the border with Ukraine, it will act not only to the detriment of Ukraine, but also to the detriment of Poland. If this is not declared in court, then the situation will appear to the court as if the rights of Polish citizens to protest are being limited in order to protect the interests of a foreign state. In addition, Ukraine should be much more active in the media field. Statements from representatives of the Ukrainian government about the war stopped being accepted as early as last year. Instead, rational arguments should be voiced.
