The Program of State Support for the Agricultural Sector Has Been Expanded for 2021

The Ministry of Economy and Agriculture of Ukraine is expanding the support program for agricultural producers for 2021. This was reported by the press service of the department. In particular, the program is supplemented with 6 new points, including:

  • State insurance of agricultural products;
  • Compensation to farmers in case of damage to crops due to emergencies;
  • Support for agricultural producers working in reclaimed sown areas;
  • Support for companies specializing in the production of organic products;
  • Potato growing support;
  • Subsidies for buckwheat producers per unit of cultivated land.

The head of the Ministry of Economy, Ihor Petrashko, said that the government is constantly in close contact with agricultural producers, and support measures are needed to solve pressing problems. Among these, the minister attributed drought, low turnover of funds, reduced profitability for some types of crops, etc. Petrashko is convinced that support measures will allow farmers to ensure the stability of their activities and increase production. In addition, the minister believes that these measures are important for the food security of Ukraine and for ensuring the availability of agricultural products.

Petrashko said that the state will compensate for the losses suffered by agricultural companies last year due to extreme weather conditions.
