The second of Ukrainian company has started exporting biomethane to the European Union

The company "MHP Eco Energy," which is part of the MHP holding, exported its first batch of biomethane to the European Union on February 11. A total of 27.4 thousand cubic meters of biomethane were exported. MHP exported biomethane through pipelines across the Ukrainian-Polish border to Germany. The buyer of the biomethane was the company Vitol. |

It is worth noting that the first exporter of Ukrainian biomethane to the EU is the Vitagro Group. On February 7 of this year, biomethane produced by Vitagro in Ukraine from 100% livestock waste was exported to Germany for the first time in the format of a "test shipment" of 720 MWh (approximately 68 thousand cubic meters). Currently, this company has several projects for scaling up biomethane production, including the construction of new plants. In an interview with Forbes, the company's Director of Development and Investments, Serhiy Savchuk, mentioned plans to build one plant in Khmelnytskyi region and another in Rivne region. The total capacity of the two new plants will be about 8 million cubic meters of biomethane per year. The company can also attract foreign investors to its capital.

It is noteworthy that it was previously mentioned that the production of Ukrainian biomethane is a promising direction on the path to joining the European Union. Ukraine wishes to adopt foreign experience in gas production. Recently, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Vitaliy Koval, emphasized during a meeting with the Ambassador of Brazil to Ukraine, Rafael de Mello Vidal, at the end of January this year, that Ukraine hopes to establish cooperation with Brazil in the field of agriculture, particularly in the production of bioethanol.

“One of the main priorities of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy is the deep processing and production of bioethanol. Brazil is the world leader in bioethanol production. Ukraine would greatly value your experience in using bioethanol as fuel for agricultural machinery and for cars. This will allow our bioethanol producers to utilize Brazilian technologies. Bioethanol could become a key product for a new era of cooperation between Ukraine and Brazil,” stressed the Ukrainian official.

For his part, the Brazilian ambassador emphasized that Ukraine is a strong partner in strengthening global food security. Rafael de Mello Vidal also noted that Brazil is ready to consider cooperation with Ukraine in bioethanol production.
