The Ukrainian wine industry is expected to be serious changes

Soon the Unified State Register of Winemakers, which will contain complete information about producers of wine products, including data on the number of grape areas, varieties of grapes of grapes and volumes of harvest. According to AgroPolit.com, the registry should ensure the traceability of the entire production process, from a "grape bunch to a specific bottle of wine on the shelf".

Among the innovations should be paid to the ban for processing factories for the purchase of grapes from manufacturers that are not introduced to the Vynohradar Cadastre. This will clearly see what varieties of grapes are grown by each winemaker and what types of products it produces. Therefore, if the types of wine products stated in the declaration will not comply with information in the Unified Register on the structure of grape areas, it will be the basis for checking the legality of the purchase of raw materials. Most likely, the majority of vineyards of Ukraine will be included in the Register within a year. In fact, this reform promises to make the Ukrainian wine market more transparent and controlled. This will have a positive effect on manufacturers and consumers.

In addition, an independent certification center is created in Ukraine to control the quality of wine products. It is planned to open an isotope analysis laboratory that will understand each wine molecule on the part and show what it consists of. In fact, it will be an independent certification center to control the quality of wine products for anyone, starting with the manufacturer and ending with the consumer. The laboratory will be certified according to international standards and will eventually be certified by appropriate arbitration services. Its results should be recognized on the same level with the European Laboratories. The institution should work in 2025-2026. There is currently no mandatory winemaker's obligation to make the necessary laboratory analysis of wine in it. Winemakers at their own request make a symbolic wine analysis of their products (sugar, acids, that is, chemical physical analyzes). To do this, they can receive services from Ukrmetrteststandart or State Metrology. The importance of an isotope laboratory is that it will be possible to explore the wine and understand which wine is not natural.

It should be noted that the volume of wine market in 2024 amounted to 8.371 million Dall, because during the war in Ukraine the number of vineyards decreased to 25 thousand hectares against 41 thousand hectares in 2021. At the same time, from the mentioned 8.371 million dall 4.42 million - imports. That is, there is a negative trend, because during the war, the consumption of wine products has fallen by 20 percent. In fact, through the war, the market and the industry that was budget -forming are lost. Another negative sectoral trend during the war was the reduction of the gap between import and Ukrainian wine products in the domestic market. In such circumstances, it is not necessary to talk about expansion into foreign markets. Although Ukrainian winemakers are exporting their own products in 49 countries and the Baltic, Poland, Germany, Britain, Japan, Asia and Africa are interesting to them.
