The Verkhovna Rada Approved the Draft Law on Land Decentralization

People's Deputies of Ukraine supported the bill №2194 which provides for a number of changes in land legislation. This bill introduces the so-called “land decentralization” –  the deregulation in the land sector. 

This law will remove artificial restrictions for agricultural companies and the population employed in the field of crop and livestock production. The need to obtain a number of permits, as well as repeated checks of documents will be eliminated. The new law introduces a system of independent control of land administration documents. This can be done through public expertise or peer review.

All documents on land management become public; everyone who needs it will be able to access them. Documentation on land management, topography, geodesy, and cartography is being unified. Also, professional responsibility is introduced for persons employed in the field of land management; state control is canceled. The cost of land surveying and the time required for paperwork will be reduced. An important change concerns the requirement for the intended use of agricultural land. The new law removes this requirement.
