The Government of Ukraine submitted to the Verkhovna Rada the draft state budget for 2025, in which it is proposed to allocate more than UAH 5 billion to support the agricultural industry. As the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Vitaly Koval reported on this occasion, most of the indicated funds, namely UAH 4.726 billion, will be directed to the payment of subsidies for per-hectare support of agricultural producers and for the maintenance of cows, sheep and goats.

Another 200 million hryvnias are planned for the restoration and construction of reclamation systems, 5 million hryvnias for compensation of the single social contribution to family farms, and 80 million hryvnias for the provision of preferential interest-free loans to farms. Also, the budget provides 1.37 billion UAH for granting grants, including for gardens and greenhouses, and another 1 billion UAH for demining land.

In general, the Ukrainian agrarian business itself strives for development, without waiting for help from the state. Only last week, Ukrainian entrepreneurs received 481 soft loans from authorized banks for a total amount of UAH 1.9 billion within the framework of the state program "Affordable loans 5-7-9%". And since the beginning of 2024, under the program, entrepreneurs have received 16,656 loans for UAH 62.1 billion, of which 12,676 loans for UAH 32.3 billion came from banks of the state sector of the economy. In general, 60,798 loan agreements for a total amount of UAH 239.4 billion have already been concluded during the period of martial law in Ukraine within the framework of the state program "Affordable loans 5-7-9%". UAH 39.64 billion from the total amount issued during the martial law are loans for agricultural producers. Another 21.42 billion UAH were issued as loans for the processing of agricultural products. In general, as of September 16, since the start of the program, business entities received 95,620 loans from authorized banks for a total amount of UAH 329 billion, of which 66,186 thousand were issued by banks of the public sector of the economy for a total amount of UAH 149.4 billion.
