UDSC Will Cooperate with Leading Logistics Operators on the Danube

The Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company (UDSC) intends to cooperate with the largest operators engaged in cargo transportation on the Danube River. This is necessary in order to create integrated solutions for the creation of cargo transportation routes that can compensate for the shortcomings of those routes that are currently available. This was stated by the head of the UDSC Dmitry Moskalenko.

The UDSC is in constant communication with representatives of European countries – Austria, Romania, and Hungary. A comprehensive solution is being developed that will make it possible to compensate for the shortcomings of the Sulina and Cernavoda shipping channels, thanks to which the transportation of goods can become even more efficient. In particular, according to Moskalenko, options are being developed for transshipment of goods at the offshore sites of the ports of Constanta, Sulina, Ust-Dunaysk and others. Transshipment can be carried out both from a barge to a ship and using storage vessels.

Leading logistics operators in Romania have the technical ability to carry out transshipment directly at offshore sites. Such a decision will reduce the turnaround time of the UDSC fleet and solve the problems of the throughput of the Sulina and Cernavoda canals.
