Ukraine Introduces Electronic Queues for Trucks at the Border

From October 3, the E-cherga service will be launched in test mode on the western border of Ukraine to organize an electronic queue for trucks. The project will be launched at one of the checkpoints. There will be a web-portal that allows you to sign up for crossing the border. Work is also ongoing on a mobile application that will be available by the end of 2022.

According to Deputy Infrastructure Minister Mustafa Nayem, the system will be integrated with customs bases, which will allow setting the priority of cargo. In addition, the service will be able to manage the flow of goods by groups, in accordance with customs declarations. The E-cherga service will be free for carriers. There will be no requirements for arrivals in the service area and human intervention.

The electronic queue will not be able to solve the problem of idle trucks at the border. However, it will still save time and allow drivers to wait for their turn to cross the border in a convenient area.
