Ukraine received the Agriculture Development Strategy

The Ukrainian Government approved the Strategy for the Development of Agriculture and Rural Territories in Ukraine for the period up to 2030, as well as the operational plan for its implementation in 2025-2027. As the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Vitaly Koval said, the purpose of the Strategy is to prepare the agricultural sector for Ukraine's accession to the European Union, and the document itself plays the role of a guide for the development of Ukrainian agriculture.

At the same time, the minister clarified that the document envisages the provision of sustainable development of agriculture and rural areas. Actually, the strategy is aimed at creating conditions for the formation of a competitive and diversified agricultural sector. It will ensure long-term food security and strengthen environmental protection. All these are conditions for cooperation with the European Union. After all, Ukraine's accession to the European Union will strengthen the European agricultural market. Currently, the European Union is the 4th largest agricultural exporter in the world, and Ukraine's entry into the system will only strengthen it. According to Vitaly Koval, the union of Ukrainian and European farmers together will become a powerful force and will be able to expand its activities to new markets.

The minister also noted that one of the priorities of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy is the development of deep processing of agricultural sector products. Today, Ukraine exports agricultural products worth $23 billion, and with the development of added value, this amount will increase many times. Therefore, the future of the Ukrainian agricultural sector does not lie in the role of a raw material appendage, but in achieving high added value and high manufacturability. That is, Ukraine should turn into a developed agro-industrial country that will continue to feed the modern world. Therefore, the Government has already improved electronic procedures for passing customs control. It is, first of all, about bringing the regulatory provisions on the movement of goods subject to official control measures into compliance with the legislation of Ukraine with the aim of simplifying control procedures at checkpoints across the state border and improving and developing electronic interaction at checkpoints during preliminary documentary control during passing customs procedures.

Currently, the descriptions of Ukrainian goods have already been brought into line with the Customs Tariff of Ukraine. It was also established that veterinary and sanitary control of veterinary drugs in the form of preliminary documentary control is not carried out at checkpoints across the state border of Ukraine. In addition, for the purposes of preliminary documentary control, it is necessary to submit electronic copies of international documents to the "Single Window" portal without submitting their paper originals to customs authorities at checkpoints across the state border of Ukraine.
