Zelensky Announced the Expansion of the Grain Export Initiative

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky offered to expand the current grain initiative. The President of Ukraine announced this as part of his speech at a meeting of the UN Security Council. The President accused the Russian Federation of a transport blockade, which destabilized the grain market around the world.

Zelensky said that the international community was able to achieve conditions under which the aggressor country was forced to agree to the demands of the international community. Thanks to this, it was possible to resume grain exports from three Ukrainian ports. This made it possible to partially remove the tension that has formed on the world food market due to the blockade of Ukrainian ports. However, the task of ensuring full food security is still not solved.

Zelensky said that only a full resumption of the export of Ukrainian agricultural products can guarantee security for millions of people in the world. The President also thanked UN Secretary-General António Guterres and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for their assistance in overcoming the food crisis around the world.
